Because it’s summer, and I’ve been sweating like crazy over here, I’m going to share my all time favorite recipe! And it’s not food.

Today I am going to be sharing with you the recipe for the homemade deodorant I use that only requires 3 simple ingredients, which you probably already have in your kitchen!

First, let’s take you back to about three years ago when I was in college. I don’t know what it was about that time in my life, oh wait, yes I do. It was all of the stress! The stress is to blame for my awful ocean pits! Is that what you call them? My husband had never heard of that before haha. Anyway, I am pretty sure I suffered from hyperhidrosis due to stress and anxiety. I would seriously have sweat marks nearly to my bellybutton without flexing a muscle. My underarms would begin to sweat just sitting! It was terrible and frustrating and I was beginning to really consider the MiraDry treatment. But because it was so expensive, I decided to exhaust every affordable option possible! I tried so many deodorants/antiperspirants and just when I thought my body was reacting well to one, it seemed that my body would become immune to it within a few weeks and it would completely stop working as if I wasn’t wearing any deodorant at all. I researched and researched and tried everything from “clinical or prescription strength” to “aluminum free.” And then one day, my mom sent me a recipe to try that she saw online. It was a homemade deodorant. Part of me thought that if a clinical strength antiperspirant wouldn’t work, then there is no product in my home that would be strong enough. But boy did I learn just how effective home products can be! I am so Glad I was willing to give it a try. This deodorant was life changing! And it is so silly for me to say because who knew something so simple would solve all of my sweaty problems? Now flash forward. I am no longer in school and I’m sure that too has helped reduce my sweaty issues, but even though I don’t have wet marks to my belly button, I still sweat in many situations; heat, exercise, etc. And this stuff, I’ll tell you, prevents those wet marks and KEEPS THE ODOR AWAY! It definitely worked for me and I’ve used it everyday since! I hope this helps one of you that way it has me!

1/4 C baking soda

1/4 C corn starch

5-6 tablespoon coconut oil

Mix until whipped, (optional: add preferred essential oil for scent)

NOTE: I store mine in a small container as pictured, and yes, just apply by hand.
